Due to summer rains, we started the season at Comedero with more water than we have had in 5 years. The fishing improved greatly as our clients are catching more numbers of bass than in the past 10 years. Once again we are back catching trophy bass on topwaters like we did 3 years ago. Almost 90% of our big bass so far have been caught on topwaters with the Storm chug bug and the Pop-R leading the best lure list.
You all know that El Salto is getting all the publicity, but truth is that Comedero is currently producing more bass and bigger bass than Salto. In April, May, and June that may not be the case, but I am confident that from today’s date until mid-April Comedero will out produce any lake in Mexico on size and numbers.
Yes, it is true that the ride to Comedero is farther and the cost is a little higher, but when you go on an extended international fishing trip, the fishing should be the first priority. Don’t you all agree?
Comedero is so good this season that we are desperate to get more clients to try it this winter. To get more new clients to fish Comedero while it is so good, we are lowering the price from March 19th to April 19th by $300 per person. If that wasn’t enough, we will also let all students who travel with a parent go at 50% of the discounted price.
Now that is the great news, but there is a little down side. The 2 best routes to fly to Mazatlan for fishing Comedero are almost 95% booked in March. However, our associate agency (Athens Travel - 800-999-2182) has 2 alternate routes that can get you to Mazatlan. These alternate routes don’t cost any more, but they do take a little longer and are not as convenient as a direct flight.
My advice is to get to Comedero this year any way you can and don’t miss out!
