Al Bunch & James Bundy – CA      Al & James fished 5″ watermelon Senkos in 3-6 ft of water.  Their largest fish weighed in at 7 lbs.   Guide Jorge

Mike Edelstein & Pat McMenamin – CA     Fishing 5″ watermelon Senkos in 10 ft of water, Mike & Pat landed 13 bass for the day.  Their largest bass was 6 lbs.   Guide Victor

Jim Shepard & Ken Buckler – CA     Jim & Ken fished in 6-10 ft of water with white swim baits.  They had 12 bass for the day with their largest weighing in at 6 lbs.    Guide Pedro

Other anglers fished blue/black Senkos in 5-10 ft of water.

54 degrees at 4:30am warming to 78 at 11:30am.  Partly cloudy in the morning with no wind.

Mike Turck & Peter Grob – CA      Mike and Peter may have only landed 19 bass for the day, but that number included a 10.5 lb trophy.  They fished 5″ green pumpkin Senkos in 4+ ft of water.    Guide Jorge

Lloyd Raheem & Paul Giove – NJ & MD      Fishing green lizards and money minnows in 5-20 ft of water, Lloyd & Paul had 15 bass including a 10 lb trophy.   Guide Armando, Sr.

Nino Correnti & Lonell Merchant – MD     Nino and Lonell fished 8″ Carolina rigged green pumpkin lizards in 15 ft of water.  They had 30 bass including a nice 8.8 lber.   Guide Pedro

Other anglers fished in 15-30 ft of water with silver white swimbaits, and watermelon Senkos in 2-6 ft of water.

Al Bunch – CA      Al fished shad 5″ Senkos in 2-6 ft of water.  He had 15 fish for the day including an 11 lb. trophy.  Guide German

Lonell Merchant & Paul Giove – MD    Lonell & Paul fished swimbaits and had 21 fish for the day.  Their largest weighed in 6.8 lbs.   Guide Armando, Sr.

Nino Correnti & Lloyd Raheem – MD & NJ      Nino & Lloyd fished white spinner baits in 5-6 ft of water.  They landed only 5 bass.   Guide Hector

52 degrees at 4am.  74 degrees at 6:30pm.  Clear day without strong winds.

John Gordon – CA     John had 36 bass for the day including a nice 8 lber.  He fished wacky rigged watermelon Senkos in 1-5 ft of water.  Guide Hector

Lonnel Merchant – MD      Lonell landed the big fish of the day with a 9 lb. beauty.  He was fishing in 14-20 ft of water with 8″ green pumpkin lizards.  Guide German

Fred Wood & Al Bunch – CA       Fred & Al fished wacky rigged watermelon Senkos in 2-6 ft of water.  They had 13 bass for the day.   Guide Juan

Fishing remains slow at the lake. 

It was 54 degrees at 4am warming to 78 at 11:30am.  There was no fog, clouds or wind.

Al Bunch & Fred Wood – CA       Al and Fred fished in 3-4 ft of water with 5″ watermelon Senkos.  They had 35 bass with a 5 lber as their largest.   Guide German

John Gordon – CA      John fished alone and had 13 bass for the day.  He fished in 1-3 ft of water with 5″ watermelon Senkos.  Guide Juan

Lonell Merchant – MD      Fishing in 3+ ft of water with watermelon red Senkos, Lonell had 13 bass for the day.   Guide Hector

Fishing is still slow as the bass are staying schooled up in the vegetation that grew up while the lake was low.

62 degrees at 4am warming to 78 at 11:30am.  A few clouds and no wind.

Al Bunch & John Gordon – CA      Al & John fished watermelon Senkos in 4-6 ft of water.  They landed 15 bass including 9 and 10 lb beauties.   Guide German

Clay Smith & Heber Barlow – UT      Clay & Heber fished 3-6 ft deep with 8″ watermelon lizards.  They put 15 in the boat with an 8 lber as their largest.    Guide Juan

Fred Wood – CA     Fred fished alone and had 14 bass for the day.  He fished in 2-3 ft of water with watermelon Senkos.   Guide Sanchez

Numbers are still down but some nice sized bass still being caught.  Other anglers used 8″ watermelon seed and pumpkin lizards.  

60 degrees at 5am warming to 82 at 12:30pm.  Clear day with no wind.

Lake level is 94.6% full.

Bill Godwin & Dennis Schoonover – UT     Bill & Dennis fished in 3-8 ft of water with 8″ watermelon lizards.  They had 13 fish for the day including a 7 lber.  Guide Enrique

Michael Carfalno & Brett Lee – PA & ID      Fishing in 15 ft of water with 8″ watermelon lizards, Michael & Brett landed 5 bass.   Guide Oscar

Clay Smith & Gavin Mathews – UT & ID        Fishing watermelon red lizards in 1-10 ft of water, Clay & Gavin landed 10 bass for the day.  Guide Pedro

With the exception of Michael & Brett, all other anglers fished in shallow water 10 ft or less.  Other anglers fished white spinner baits, white Zara Spooks, green pumpkin Senkos, shad Rat-L-Traps and baby bass Ricky Pops. 

54 degrees at 3:30am.  76 degrees at 6pm.

Todd Gerth & Gavin Mathews – UT     Todd & Gavin fished watermelon red lizards in 10-20 ft of water.  Gavin landed 9.8 lb beauty.  Guide Sanchez

Israel Barlow & Brett Lee – UT    Israel & Brett also fished watermelon red lizards but in 2-6+ ft of water.  Israel landed a nice 9.5 lber.  They had 49 bass for the day.   Guide Oscar

Michael Carfalno & Heber Barlow – PA & UT     Fishing in 4 ft of water, Mike & Heber had 20 bass including a 7 lber.  They used 8″ green iguanas.

Fishing is still tough as the fish are staying schooled up in the grass which got covered as the lake became full.  Last October the lake was at 68% when we started our season and continued to fall until it reached about 21% in July.  Vegetation had plenty of time to grow while the lake was so low.  Dipping or spraying the tails of the plastic baits (lizards, Sekos, flukes) and swim baits seems to attract the bass.

Fishing is still a little tough on El Salto right now as the water temp hasn’t cooled enough for the fish to move into shallower water where these fly fishermen fished.
