The guys still have 1/2 day of fishing but at lunch today they had managed to land 587 peacock. They had 53 over 10 lbs, 11 over 15 lbs and an 18 lber is still the largest landed. Word from the boat is that they have encountered numerous 20 lb fish but have not been able to get one in the boat.

Group 4 is now up to 448 peacock. They have landed 47 over 10 lbs, and 10 over 15 lbs. Their largest is still 18 pounds. They still have a day and a half of fishing.

Johnny Azevedo & Robert Azevedo, Jr. – CA Johnny Azevedo landed an 11.8 lb trophy today. He and Robert had 27 bass. They fished in 8-10 ft of water with Bill Dance sexy shad crank baits. Guide Armando, Sr.
Robert Azevedo & Cliff Azevedo – CA Robert & Cliff fished 7″ smog Senkos in 5-10 ft of water. They had 40 bass for the day including and 8 lber. Guide Jorge
Randall Roberts & Keith Whitten – IL Randall & Keith fished 10″ green pumpkin worms in 10+ ft of water. They landed 27 bass including a nice 9.1 lber. Guide Victor
Other anglers sidhed 8″ green pumpkin lizards in 1-4 ft of water; 8″ pumpkin lizards in 10+ ft of water and white buzz baits in 1-5 ft of water.
72 degrees at 4am warming to 82 at 12:30pm. Sunny day with no wind. Lake El Salto is currently 98.5% full.

Denny Brauer & Rory Pasley – MO Denny & Rory had a good day of fishing with 40 bass including an 8.13 lber and a 9.9 lb beauty. They fished 1-10 ft deep with watermelon red frogs, and chrome/blue red eye shad. Guide Sanchez
Robert Richardson & Marty Stawizyski – GA & MO Robert & Marty also had 40 bass today with a 7 lber as their largest. They fished in 1-2 ft of water with 5″ shad flukes. Guide Hector
Johnny & Cliff Azevedo – CA Johnny and Cliff fished white spinner baits in 1-5 ft of water. They landed only 13 bass but that total included a 7 lber and two 8 lbers. Guide Jorge
Other anglers fished 18+ ft with 10″ green-blue worms: green pumpkin flukes & Senkos in 4-15 ft of water: tilapia flukes in 1-3 ft of water, and 8″ green pumpkin lizards in 5-10 ft of water.
76 degrees at 5am warming to 88 at 11:30am. Partly cloudy morning but sunny in the afternoon.

Due to poor satellite phone connection we were only able to get a partial report on group 3’s fishing. After 2 1/2 days they were up to 234 fish with 29 over 10 pounds.

After 1 1/2 days of fishing, group 3 had a total of 98 peacock bass. They had 14 over 10 lbs., 3 over 15 lbs with the largest weighing in at 18 lbs.

Marty Stawizyski & Rory Pasley – MO Marty & Rory fished Carolina rigged 8″ green pumpkin lizards in 20+ ft of water. They landed two 7 lbers, an 8 lber and a nice 9 lber. They had 30 bass for the day. Guide Sanchez
Randall Roberts & Eric Ruholl – IL Fishing white Pop R’s in 1-5 ft of water, Randall & Eric caught an 8.8 lb. beauty. They had 14 bass for the day. Guide Hector
Jim Warrn & Keith Whitten – MO & IL Jim & Keith had 33 bass for the day including one over 7 lbs. They fished Carolina rigged green pumpkin lizards in 12-14 ft of water. Guide Juan
Other anglers fished both Carolina rigged & Texas rigged 8″ green pumpkin lizards in 20+ ft of water; Carolina rigged watermelon red 8″ lizards in 10-15 ft of water, and white swim baits in 10-15 ft of water.
80 degrees at 5:30am warming to 88 at 12:30pm. Numbers seem to be improving as the anglers locate the fish. Anglers are having to fish slower and deeper as the water is still stained from earlier rains and the surface temperature of the water is still warm causing the fish to be deeper.

Randall Roberts & David Biggs – IL The first fishing morning of the season saw Randall & David landing 36 bass including a nice 8.3 lber. They fished Texas rigged watermelon red lizards in 7-8 ft. of water. Guide Sanchez
Mike Sur & Eric Ruholl – IL Mike & Eric had the largest bass of the day with an 8 1/2 pound beauty. They fished in 10-15 ft of water with swim shad. They had 20 bass for the day. Guide Hector
Marty Stawizyski & Jim Warren – MO Marty & Jim landed the most fish of the day with a total of 45. Their largest fish weighed in at 7 lbs. They fished 8″ green pumpkin lizards with chartruese tails in 15-20 ft of water. Guide J. Manuel
Other anglers fished Carolina rigged 8″ pumpkin lizards in 15-20 ft of water, and with watermelon lizards in 10-15 ft of water.
This was the first day of fishing of the season at Camp El Salto. The lake is at 98% full which sure beats the 68% that we started with last October. It was 76 degrees at 4:30 am warming to 86 degrees at noon.

Gilberto called at lunch today and group 2jnow has 518 fish with 3 over 20 lbs, the largest weighing in at 22 lbs. They have 52 over 10 lbs. and 16 over 15 lbs. They still have 1/2 day of fishing.

Group 2 now has 405 fish as of lunch time today. They have landed 36 over 10 lbs, 13 over 15 lbs. and the 20 lber is still the largest. They are moving the boat to what they hope will be better fishing.
