11/7/2010

Todd Gerth & Gavin Mathews – UT     Todd & Gavin fished watermelon red lizards in 10-20 ft of water.  Gavin landed 9.8 lb beauty.  Guide Sanchez

Israel Barlow & Brett Lee – UT    Israel & Brett also fished watermelon red lizards but in 2-6+ ft of water.  Israel landed a nice 9.5 lber.  They had 49 bass for the day.   Guide Oscar

Michael Carfalno & Heber Barlow – PA & UT     Fishing in 4 ft of water, Mike & Heber had 20 bass including a 7 lber.  They used 8″ green iguanas.

Fishing is still tough as the fish are staying schooled up in the grass which got covered as the lake became full.  Last October the lake was at 68% when we started our season and continued to fall until it reached about 21% in July.  Vegetation had plenty of time to grow while the lake was so low.  Dipping or spraying the tails of the plastic baits (lizards, Sekos, flukes) and swim baits seems to attract the bass.

54 degrees at 3:30am.  76 degrees at 6pm.

58 degrees at 4am warming to 80 at 11am.

Barry Alan & Linda Winthers – CA     Barry & Linda fished in 1-5 ft of water with Pole Dancer flys.  Their largest fish weighed in at 8 lbs.   Guide Amando, Sr.

Mike Wasserman & Rich Pavy – CA     Mike & Rich fished pearl super flux in 1-5 ft of water.  Guide Jorge

Fishing is still a little tough on El Salto right now as the water temp hasn’t cooled enough for the fish to move into shallower water where these fly fishermen fished.

58 degrees at 4:30am warming to 86 at 11:30am.

60 degrees at 4am warming to 76.  A sunny day with wind in the morning.

Another sunny day with wind out of the north.  It was 60 degrees at  4:30am warming to 78.  The lake was dropping slightly – down about an inch.

Fishing was tough for these anglers as a cold front was making its way through.  It was clear without any wind or fog.  58 degrees at 4:30am warming to 78 at noon.

Virgil & Greg Hackney – KY   Virgil & Greg fished in 8-10 ft of water with shad swim baits, and watermelon Senkos in 1-12 ft of water.  They had 27 bass with their largest weighing in at 8.14 lbs.   Guide Sanchez

76 degrees at 6:30am warming to 86 at noon.  It was a very warm day with no clouds and no wind.

El Salto is now at 97%.

Virgil & Greg Hackney – KY    Virgil and Greg  fished chartreuse swim baits in 10+ ft of water, and also watermelon Senkos in 1-10 ft of water.  They had 46 bass for the day including a 7.4 lber and a nice 9.14 lber.   Guide Sachez

74 degrees at 5am warming to 84 at 11:30am.  Foggy in the morning but cleared off.  It became cloudy in the afternoon.

Robert Azevedo, Sr. & Cliff Azevedo – CA    Robert and Cliff fished pink and watermelon red flukes in 1-10 ft of water.  They had 20 bass for the day including a 9.8 lb beauty.   Guide Enrique

Denny Brauer & Marty Stawizyski – MO    Fishing in 10+ ft of water with chrome/black red eye shad, Denny and Marty landed 30 bass for the day.  Their largest weighed in at 7.8 lbs.    Guide Oscar

Keith Whitten & Mike Sur – IL     Keith and Mike fished gold spinner baits in 12+ ft of water.  They landed 26 bass with their largest weighing 7.14 lbs.  Guide Armando, Jr.

Other anglers fished bone Pop R’s in 1-10 ft of water: Carolina rigged 8″ watermelon lizards in 10+ ft of water; 8″ green pumpkin lizards, and watermelon red and pearl horny toads in 1-8 ft of water.

74 degrees at 4:30am warming to 78 at noon.  A little foggy in the morning but clear the rest of the day.  There was no wind.

Johnny Azevedo & Robert Azevedo, Jr. – CA    Johnny Azevedo landed an 11.8 lb trophy today.  He and Robert had 27 bass.  They fished in 8-10 ft of water with Bill Dance sexy shad crank baits.  Guide Armando, Sr.

Randall Roberts & Keith Whitten – IL    Randall & Keith fished 10″ green pumpkin worms in 10+ ft of water.  They landed 27 bass including a nice 9.1 lber.   Guide Victor

Other anglers sidhed 8″ green pumpkin lizards in 1-4 ft of water; 8″ pumpkin lizards in 10+ ft of water and white buzz baits in 1-5 ft of water.

72 degrees at 4am warming to 82 at 12:30pm.  Sunny day with no wind.  Lake El Salto is currently 98.5% full.
